The Yellowstone Valley Food Hub is a grower’s cooperative based in Billings, MT. It was conceived by a vision of changing the local food network and its systems by a small group of passionate agricultural producers in 2019 and has been growing to meet the demands of the local market steadily. The Hub sells locally produced agricultural products primarily through an online sales platform aimed at the direct to consumer market in Billings, Red Lodge, and surrounding areas. The Hub markets, aggregates, and distributes local meat, veggies, eggs, dairy, and value-added products on a weekly basis year round.
The YV Food Hub is looking for an enthusiastic, communicative, and detail oriented problem solver to join our team! This position is part time with flexible weekly hours. Potential growth in these hours as business grows and potential increased hours seasonally.

As the Marketing and Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive customer engagement, increase brand awareness, and ultimately, boost sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management:
- Manage and curate our social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest) to enhance the cooperative's online presence.
- Create and schedule engaging content, including images, videos, and articles, to promote our products and mission.
- Monitor and respond to customer inquiries, comments, and feedback on social media platforms.
- Analyze social media metrics to identify trends, measure campaign effectiveness, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Content Creation:
- Develop high-quality, compelling content, such as blog posts, newsletters, and graphics, that aligns with our cooperative's mission and resonates with our target audience.
- Collaborate with local farmers and producers to showcase their products and stories on our platforms.
- Marketing Strategy:
- Create and execute marketing campaigns to promote our cooperative's products and events.
- Work closely with the management team to develop promotional materials, such as flyers, posters, and digital advertisements.
- Implement email marketing campaigns and track their effectiveness.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster relationships with our cooperative members, local producers, and the community to build a strong sense of belonging and support.
- Organize and participate in local events, fairs, and promotional activities to increase our cooperative's visibility.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Regularly analyze the performance of marketing initiatives and provide insights to improve future strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance metrics to the management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in social media management and marketing, preferably in the food industry or a cooperative setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using social media management tools and email marketing platforms.
- Knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
